YAMAHA Race Snowmobiles came on strong in the 1970's.
Ed Schubitzke & Dick Trickle raced Yamaha Snowmobiles and won titles in 1976
 at the World Championship Snowmobile Derby in Eagle River, Wisconsin.
Dick Trickle was also a professional Race Car Driver with many titles in his career.
Prior to their success on the oval, Mike Trapp had won the World Championships
at Eagle River riding Yamaha Snowmobiles in 1971 and 1972.
 Those are the only 3 years since 1964 that Yamaha claims titles at Eagle River.
  However, open the hood on alot of Mercury's and other brands of sleds
 and you will find these compact power-house engines.
